About The Hope Institute

The Hope Institute is a citizen-based research organization based in Seoul, Korea. Founded in 2006,  the Hope Institute aims to foster citizen initiatives based on sustainable values and to provide an independent space  to tackle critical social issues.

Mission

The Hope Institute is committed to practicing social innovation with citizens.

We encouraged that: the rural areas and big cities develop evenly, people’s ideas become reality, retirees fulfill themselves in the public sector, social economy systems to be enriched, and more people are educated to be innovative public leaders.

Core Value

Hope Institute aims to foster citizen initiatives based on sustainable values and to provide an independent space  to tackle critical social issues.

It is an independent research institute established without contributions from the government or private corporations, and runs on citizens' donation.

We aim for open research and practice with citizens' suggestions, sponsorship, and participation in activities.

The answer is in the field. We need to go to the field, not at the desk, to find alternatives with the wisdom we have gained.

The region  enriches our lives and is the heart of our nation.  When regions thrive, people thrive.

It is the birthplace of the 21st century New Silhak Movement, which combines research and practice in the spirit of truthfulness, not abstract debate.

We consider alternatives that are ecological, culturally rich, for people, and save people.

We focus on specific matters and hands-on practices to solve larger problems.

The Hope Institute is committed to practicing

social innovation with citizens.
